The Pression Project is an idea to put my goals in motion. What are my goals??? I have NO IDEA. At 33 I have not had a single goal that I care enough about to maintain motivation for an extended period of time. Why? Either I have not found a passion to immerse myself in or my passion is to try different things. I have worked interesting jobs around the world, accomplished things I am proud of, but feel year after year my brain decaying from lack of interest. The best memories I have are from trying new things and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
Goal: Exercise every day. FAILS. Why....because who cares. I don't want to see the inside of a gym each day or run around the same neighbourhood each day. What I really want is to do something that is interesting while moving my body. In summary, I am brain lazy....I don't wanna.
Goal: Eat well. Works well most of the time then.....FAILS....miserably. Why? Totally based on my surroundings and how easy it is to succeed. Thinking about food all day is exhausting....but when I am set up to succeed with providing myself the right tools and habits to succeed it is easy. In summary, there really isn't an excuse, but I like to think cake and vodka are legitimate.
Goal: Get Smarter. Educate myself...be more active in my own destiny. FAILS. Why? My interest wanes after the summary is understood and there is no solid motivation of requirement or personal achievement to master a subject. I simply allow myself to get bored. In summary, I am a spoiled brat.
So I want something new everyday, but to be healthy by eating well, exercising and mastering a subject take repetition through good habits, perseverance and dedication.
The Pression Project is the project of adding pressure for the desire to move. Be not stagnant. Be not the opposite of pression.
Rather than do the regular goals of eat well, (by exercising daily and educating myself,) I am choosing to try something different every day. I still need to do the above, but with the added challenge to make it fun by keeping my life moving without me myself having to constantly change my entire life just to keep stimulated. Small challenges every day. That's it. Join if you would like and make suggestions for the days to come.
Benefits. Well the benefits that I can see coming from this project is strengthening my brain power and concentration through the stimulation of trying something new every day and the positive habit forming bi-product of this project. Each day I will need to continue to do what is 'good' for me, but also ensure I am staying interested in what I am doing even if the topic, action or flavor do not excite me. This project is not meant to empty my pocket book but be a stepping stone to creating the habit of continuing to move forward.
